Manu National Park 4 Days Visit the Manu National Park, the natural paradise with the greatest biodiversity in the world. And a fascinating destination for travelers who love nature. Inside the reserve there are more than 30 native communities: Machiguengas, Amahuaca, Yine, Amarakaeri, Huashipaire and Nahua. And there are also indigenous populations in voluntary isolation called “uncontacted”. Itinerary: Day 01:Cusco - Paucartambo - Bosque Nublado - Pilcopata Very early from the narrow pre-Columbian streets of the city of Cusco we will embark in private mobility with destination to Pilcopata. During the tour we will cross fertile inter-Andean valleys and picturesque peasant communities. Also, we will make momentary stops to visit the pre-Inca vestige of the chullpas of Ninamarca and the typical colonial town Paucartambo (famous for its festival of the Virgen del Carmen) that will leave us captivated with its colonial architecture. From Paucartambo we will continue the ascent towards the Acjanacu pass at 3,850 meters above sea level. Then, we will descend to the lush cloud forest of the high jungle where endemic species inhabit such as the Spectacled Bear, the Cock of the Rocks, orchids, bromeliads and ferns. At this point we will have lunch and then we will observe the flora and fauna in a natural environment. And then, we will continue our journey to Pilcopata, our first resting place, where we will take a break in the green areas of the hostel until dinner time. Meals included: breakfast | lunch | Dinner Díay 02:Pilcopata – Atalaya – Albergue On the second second day of our journey, we will get up very early and walk a safe distance to observe the dance and the striking red-orange plumage of the national bird of Peru: the Gallito de las Rocas. Although, in order to appreciate this endemic bird we will have to settle on a camouflaged platform within the forest. After having delighted our eyes with the colorful colors of the cock of the rocks, we will return to our lodge for breakfast and continue our journey to the heart of Manu. The trip from Pilcopata to Atalaya will be through a narrow path, which is covered by the lush vegetation of the area. Upon arrival at this magical and attractive place, which is located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River (700 meters above sea level), we will have lunch. And then, we will continue with the adventure through the Madre de Dios River; being able during the tour to take the best postcards of the trip, and also to appreciate the enormous diversity of species of birds existing in the area such as: herons, vultures, cormorants and others. Upon arrival at Atalaya, we go to our lodge to settle in and then we will hike around the lodge to explore the best of the high and low jungle. Meals included: breakfast | lunch | Dinner Day 03:Albergue Erika - Collpa de loros - Cocha Machuwasi The breakfast of this day will be in the facilities of our hostel. Then, with the help of a local guide, who will explain to us about the benefits of the park and the different altitudes that give rise to various habitats, we will go a little deeper into the jungle to see the flora and fauna of the area up close. We will also be able to interact with some people who live in the place, who will explain to us about the qualities of some medicinal plants. At noon we will return to the lodge for lunch. And then, we will board a boat that will take us to the other bank of the Alto Madre de Dios River from where we will start a 30-minute walk to the Machuwasi lagoon. During the journey, and in the vicinity of the lagoon where we will settle comfortably, we will observe the flora and fauna of the area. Although to better observe the gray herons, toucanets, red-crested woodpeckers, bienteveos and cardinals, we will have to help ourselves with our binoculars and / or long-range photography cameras. After the excursion, we can also join the group of adventurers who wish to practice adventure sports such as canopy. This activity, which consists of sliding through a network of cables between the treetops, can be practiced in the vicinity of our lodge that has different platforms to carry out this activity and to observe the Amazon rainforest from a different perspective. Anyway, this day will be full of emotions. Meals included: breakfast | lunch | Dinner Day 04:Playa - río alto Madre de Dios - Atalaya - Cusco On the last day of our tour we will get up very early to go to observe a clay lick. To do this, we will navigate for about 10 minutes to a clay lick located in the heart of the jungle. In the clay walls of the clay lick we will observe different species of parrots such as the blue-headed parrot, the white-eyed parakeet and among others that every morning go down to eat pieces of clay that contain the minerals necessary for good digestion. After the tour we will return to our lodge to have breakfast and say goodbye to our hosts. Then, we will return by boat to the port of Atalaya.
