Then we take it to our headquarters, where it is possible to leave any excess luggage. Then we will go to the Tambopata River Port. Here we will enter the native community of Infierno. We start our two and a half hour boat trip to Refugio Amazonas. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will receive a full briefing of important boating and safety tips before a delicious dinner is served. Meals: Lunch Dinner Day 2 Oxbow Lake, Canopy Tower and Ethnobotanical Tour - Refugio Amazonas 1 stop Tambopata National Reserve Today we visit Oxbow Lake. We start early in the morning and paddle around Oxbow Lake in our boat to see the wide variety of Amazonian wildlife such as hoatzin, alligator, and screech horned. Hopefully we will have one of the rare otter sightings. Early in the afternoon, we will take a boat back to the Amazon Refuge. After a thirty minute walk from the lodge, we will arrive at the 25 meter canopy tower that stretches towards the incredible view towards the Tambopata National Reserve. From here you can spot mixed species, as well as toucans, macaws and raptors. After lunch before we will visit Don Manuel. Don Manual owns a farm just five minutes downstream from the farmhouse. Here we will learn about the variety of popular and exotic Amazonian products that he grows. We then head to a trail so you can explore the immense variety of plants and trees. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to attend an evening talk about conservation and projects in the Tambopata National Reserve. Then we will transfer you to the Puerto Maldonado airport in time for your domestic flight. To conserve energy in the jungle, the power is turned off for a short period of time in the morning and evening.
